BROOKLYN -- JANUARY 31, 2009: Rapper James "Brooklyn Chase" Glover (L), 24, stands outside the Medgar Evers Houses in Bedford Stuyvesant with some of his friends on January 31, 2009 in Brooklyn. Glover's involvement with the "Lay the Guns Down Campaign," began after his 18 year-old neighbor Khiel Coppin was shot to death by NYPD officers on November 12, 2007. The officers believed Coppin, who allegedly had a history of mental problems, was armed with a gun. It turned out Coppin was holding a hairbrush. (PHOTOGRAPH BY MICHAEL NAGLE)
